Finding Apps to Read eBooks in Short

Did you know that Android’s app marketplace doesn’t just offer an enormous selection of apps—it also hosts a surprisingly large number of book-summary apps? While its well-known competitor with the famous fruit logo has plenty of options too, Android users are spoiled for choice.

Most of these apps focus on self-help, business, leadership, psychology, productivity, and personal development. Instead of reading a 300-page book, you can often absorb the key ideas in just 10 to 20 minutes.

Finding these apps is easy. Simply search for “book summaries” in the Google Play Store, and you’ll discover a seemingly endless list. Many apps provide a free summary every day or every week, while nearly all offer affordable subscriptions that unlock their entire library. Most will also come with audio versions just as concise as the written summaries.

The challenge isn’t finding a book-summary app—it’s choosing one. The days when there were only a handful are long gone. Today, searching for “book summaries” can return well over a hundred results, making it difficult to identify the real gems. I haven’t managed to determine which ones are the very best—there are simply too many to test!

I’ve attached screenshots of over fifty apps that I plan to explore over time. Before downloading one, however, it’s worth checking user reviews and star ratings, since not every software delivers the same quality.

Once you’ve found one that suits your taste, you can subscribe if you wish—and start enjoying the world’s biggest ideas in bite-sized form. Happy reading!
